I decided to seek Amanda’s help as I was suffering from low energy and tiredness and I was not enjoying life as I felt I should. I had a young child and had days when I was too exhausted to even play with him. Amanda took the time to really get to the bottom of my health issues and I was very impressed by how quickly and accurately she managed to sum me up! I was given brilliant and straightforward nutritional advice, tailored to my needs, and a list of helpful supplements which would support my body alongside the easy dietary changes. I left the first consultations feeling in charge of my health, for the first time in my life. I returned to see her a few weeks later and the change was immense … I now had my energy back and was thoroughly enjoying life. My son kept commenting on how much I now did with him and has never heard the phrase, “Mummy is too tired to play with you,” ever since! I credit Amanda with giving me my life back and would highly recommend her to everyone
The basis of Nutritional Therapy
Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care. Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)-Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioners like Amanda Turner use a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns. This approach allows us to work with individuals to address nutritional balance and help support the body towards maintaining health. Nutritional Therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and wellbeing.
As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I consider each individual to be unique and recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Nutritional Therapy Practitioners never recommend Nutritional Therapy as a replacement for medical advice and also always refer any client with ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms to their medical professional. We will also frequently work alongside a medical professional and will communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in the client’s care to explain any Nutritional Therapy programme that has been provided.
What a Nutritional Therapy session with Amanda Turner typically involves
Before the first consultation, I usually provide a health and nutrition questionnaire for individual clients to complete. An initial consultation typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes, and in this time I usually ask detailed questions about health aims, current health concerns, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, medical history, family history, lifestyle, levels of physical activity, use of medication and supplements and diet. Normally I then evaluate individual needs and use the extensive evidence base for nutritional science to develop a personalised, safe and effective nutrition and lifestyle programme.
Follow-up consultations are generally after four weeks in order to monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments. Further follow-ups may be required depending on each individual situation.

I have been suffering from digestive issues for sometime and got a new job recently. These symptoms undermined my confidence and ability to work to my normal ability. Shortly after I met Amanda who discussed how nutrition therapy may offer some support. During several months we worked together with diet changes, nutritional support, and botanical supplements which all seemed to help to support me through this stressful time in my life. I am grateful to Amanda for her intelligence, professionalism and willingness to investigate new avenues of therapeutic healthcare in order to try to find a solution to a difficult health problem.
After having years of digestive issues, which was effecting my energy levels, work and skin, and doing countless elimination diets, I found Amanda, and I have come on leaps and bounds-literally! Whilst collaborating with my GP, Amanda not only educated me on what was happening in my body, she also allowed me to feel comfortable enough to be completely honest, which was such a relief after years of shame, embarrassment and inconvenience . Together with a medical diagnosis from my GP/doctors, it became clear that self-help also seemed important, and the knowledge she gave me quickly led to improvements and opened a whole new world of ways to optimise my health in a natural way. She has helped me regain my faith and enjoyment of food and I have since enrolled into a nutrition course to further my knowledge. I would recommend Amanda to anyone seeking to optimise their health, whether it is for a specific digestive issue like mine or to just to be able to enjoy life more! She is also super lovely.
Amanda really takes the time to understand not only your nutritional needs but also your health and personal history to give valuable advice. She listens patiently and kindly while you talk about often embarrassing problems and seeks a potential route to resolution as fast as possible (she is trained to collaborate fully with doctors, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals). I felt reassured by her level of experience and knowledge, plus she wasn’t afraid to say when she needed to go away and investigate more. Amanda’s follow up emails/letters were always very detailed so you had a record of exactly what had been discussed and the protocol to follow. I feel nutritional and supplementation advice can benefit us all in some way and wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Amanda or recommend her to friends and family.
Amanda’s nutritional support programme helped me improve my whole approach towards my diet, supplements and super foods. Through her thorough and informed guidance I learned how recent events had had a detrimental effect on my general health and energy levels. She motivated me through her teaching and research based practice to make changes to my diet. Within 8 weeks, following her advice and recommendations, I felt so much better! I recommend Amanda, she is passionate about her work, has a friendly and conscientious manner and is highly qualified in her profession.
In my twenties and thirties, I just lived with digestive disorders, low energy, joint and tendon pains … After surgery and through dietary changes, my quality of life has significantly improved through personalised, directly-controllable nutritional therapy, and I now lead a normal pain-free lifestyle with normal daily activites.
